Indoor Track Competes at Fordham Quad Meet
Indoor track shines in the men’s Mile, women’s 1000-meters and women’s Mile events.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The men’s and women’s indoor track teams travelled to Fordham Quad Meet in Bronx, N.Y. on Friday, Dec. 7.  Individual results were posted for the meet.



The trio of sophomore Devyn Pryor (Dartmouth, Mass.), junior Jackie McCarthy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and junior Molly McCann (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) took the top-three spots in the women’s 1000-meters. With this finish, Pryor and McCarthy placed second and third, respectively, on the NEICAAA Indoor Performance List. The Friars also took the top-three spots in the women’s mile.  Freshman Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.) finished first with a time of 5:12.6.  Mullins was followed by sophomore Caile Kohlbrenner (Sparkill, N.Y.) who finished second (5:16.6) and freshman Kathleen Powell (Wrentham, Mass) who finished third (5:16.8).



Also of note, sophomore Caitlin Abelseth (Voorheesville, N.Y.) finished second in the women’s 400-meters with a time of 58.8 seconds.



On the men’s side, senior Alex Wallace (Waipukarau, New Zealand) finished first in the men’s mile with a time of 4:20.2, which put him in sixth on the NEICAAA Indoor Performance List for the event.



Also of note, sophomore Phil Reid (Oceanport, N.J.) finished tied-third in the men’s high jump with a height of 6’ 0.75” (1.85m).



The indoor track team will be off until Sunday, Jan. 20 for winter break.  When the team returns they will travel to the Greater Boston Invitational in Cambridge, Mass.
