Providence College Women's Track Runners Named To All-BIG EAST Team

Sisson and Nagel were named to the All-BIG EAST Team after each collecting an individual title at the BIG EAST Championships.



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Seniors Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) and Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) of the Providence College women's indoor track and field team were named to the All-BIG EAST Team yesterday (Feb. 28). The two earned the honor after their top-three performances at the BIG EAST Championships (Feb. 21-22).



Sisson earned the honor after collecting a first-place finish in the 5,000 meter run and a second-place finish in the 3,000 meter run. Sisson finished the 5,000 meter run in a time of 16:08.01 for her second BIG EAST indoor title of her career. In the 3000 meter run, Sisson finished second with a time of 9:09.35.



Nagel captured her first BIG EAST indoor title with a first-place finish in the 3000 meter with a time of 9:07.26. In the 5000 meter run, Nagel captured second with a time of 16:08.34.



Both runners have been named to the All-BIG EAST Indoor Track Team twice now. Sisson earned the honor after collecting first-place in the 3000 meter in 2013, while Nagel finished second in the 5000 meter run in 2012.



The Friars are currently competing at the New England Championships in Boston, Mass.
