Providence College Women's Track Wraps-up Competition At New England Championships

The Friars captured four ECAC Championship times, including a PR.



BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College women's indoor track and field team wrapped-up competition Saturday, March 1 at the New England Championships in Boston, Mass. The Friars posted four ECAC Championship qualifying times and a personal-record on the day.



Senior Jackie McCarthy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) captured second-place in the 1000 meter finals with a personal-best time of 2:51.58. McCarthy's time also was an ECAC Championship qualifying time.



In the 3000 meter run, sophomore Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.) and senior Erin Murphy (Easton, Mass.) both ran ECAC Championship qualifying times. Mullins was eighth in a time of 9:51.48, while Murphy was 10th in a time of 9:53.94.



Sophomore Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) ran an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 2:12.96, good for fourth-place overall in the 800 meter run finals.



The Friars finished the meet 16th overall (14 points) out of 34 teams.



Providence continues competition tomorrow, with the Boston University Last Chance meet in Boston, Mass. The Friars will look to post NCAA Championship qualifying times as the season begins to come to a close.
