On the men's side, junior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) cruised to a first-place finish in his heat of the mile (4:18.47), earning an automatic bid to the final. Junior Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.) also advanced to the final of the mile after finishing among the top-12 times (ninth) in 4:20.59.

At the end of the night, the distance medley relay (DMR) teams took to the track. Freshman Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Australia), senior Kelsey Dermody (Norton, Mass.), sophomore Emily Bushey (Vernon, N.J.) and senior Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) were members of the women's DMR that placed second (11:28.54). For the men, Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England), Aaron Hanlon (Drogheda, Ireland), James Campbell (Cumberland, Maine) and Kevin Olsen (Marlboro, N.J.) were members of the DMR that finished fourth in a time of 10:03.50.
