Providence College Men’s and Women’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors
Armstrong, Hillery, Mann, Oakley, Collins, Rocha, Mullins and Lembo earn All-Academic Status.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The USTFCCCA announced its 2016 All-Academic Teams and individual honors on Thursday, July 28. The Providence College men’s track team, which has a 3.27 GPA, was among a total of 120 institutions that earned the honor, while the women’s team, which has a 3.37 GPA, was among a total of 220 institutions that earned the honor.
The individuals on the Friar men’s team that earned the All-Academic honor were junior Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland), senior Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.), senior Jordan Mann (St. Louis, Mo.), and senior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand). For the Friar women’s team, senior Sarah Collins (Basil, Switzerland), junior Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.), senior Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.), and sophomore Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) earned the All-Academic honor.
To earn All-Academic Team status, a team must finish highly at the respective national championship and have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA. To earn All-Academic status as an individual, a student-athlete must have complied a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season a student athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division 1 Championships (including preliminary rounds).
