 Hugh Armstrong Named BIG EAST Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.



NEW YORK, N.Y. - The BIG EAST announced that Providence College Indoor Track senior Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland) earned BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week honors on Dec. 6.



Armstrong earned the honor after finishing as the top collegiate and second overall in the 5,000 meters at the Boston University Season Opener on Dec. 3. Armstrong raced to a three second personal best, running 14:06.43. His time is currently the fastest in the NCAA.



The Friars return to action at the URI Sorlien Invitational on Jan. 21.
