<p class="MsoNormal"><b>NAMPA, IDAHO –</b> Providence College distance standouts David McCarthy (Waterford, Ireland) and Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) have earned Second-Team All-America status at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Saturday at
the Jackson’s Track. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">McCarthy earned ninth place in the mile after battling among the race leaders for much of the endeavor. He crossed in 4:04.05, less than three seconds behind the event champion, Tulsa’s Chris O’Hare (4:01.66).

<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Sisson earned 12<sup>th</sup> out of 18 competitors in the 3000-meters. She was able to secure a position in the lead pack for much of the race, crossing in 9:25.13. Georgetown’s Emily Infeld was the event winner, outkicking the top of
the field from the outside to cross in 9:15.44. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The night wraps a stunning indoor season for both Friars. McCarthy broke the Providence College and New England Collegiate records in the mile run with a late-January positing of 3:55.75. He later took two BIG EAST titles with wins in the
Distance Medley Relay and the 3000-meters.<span style> </span>
</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Sisson, meanwhile, earned a place in her first indoor national championship with a sparkling effort at the Columbia last chance meet on March 3, finishing in 9:06.04.

<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Friars will now gear for the outdoor campaign. The new season begins April 4 at the Stony Brook Quad Meet.
