<p class="MsoNormal"><b>DES MOINES, IOWA –</b> Two members of the Providence College women’s track and field team have earned All-America status at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships at Drake Stadium.

<p class="MsoNormal">Saturday, Friar sophomore Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) placed fourth in the nation in the 5,000 meters, crossing in 16:18.24. Her time was less than seven seconds off the pace of the event winner, Dartmouth’s Abbey D’Agostino (16:11.34).

<p class="MsoNormal">Sisson, by placing in the top eight in the event, earned First-Team All-America status.

<p class="MsoNormal">With the collegiate season complete, Sisson will now turn her attention to the US Track and Field Olympic Trials later this month in Eugene, Oregon.

<p class="MsoNormal">Also representing the Friars in the NCAA 5,000-meter final was Charlotte Ffrench O’Carroll (Dublin, Ireland).<span style="mso-spacerun:

</span>The senior placed 20<sup>th</sup> with a clocking of 17:19.04. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">On Friday, junior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) added another chapter in her steeplechase success, placing tenth in the event with a posting of 10:19.54. The effort earned Greany Second-Team All-America honors.

<p class="MsoNormal">The efforts wrap a remarkable outdoor season for the three Friars. Last month, both Greany and Sisson became BIG EAST Champions in their respective events, while Ffrench-O’Carroll captured the 3000-meters at the prestigious Penn Relays.
