<p class="MsoNormal"><b>EUGENE, OREGON –</b> Providence College distance standout Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) has advanced to the final of the 5000-meters at the US Track and Field Olympic Trials.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The rising junior, running in the first of two semifinal heats, placed eighth with a time of 15:52.37.

yes"> </span>While the top six runners from each of the two semifinals automatically advance, Sisson’s effort was strong enough to qualify based on time.

<p class="MsoNormal">She will now compete with 15 other runners in the 5000-meter final on Thursday, June 28. The race goes off at 10:15 p.m. eastern time and can be seen on the NBC Sports Network.
