<p style="text-align: center;"><b>The Friars notched a first-place finish in the distance medley and 3000 meter run.</b></p>

<p><b>KINGSTON, R.I. -</b> The Providence College men’s indoor track and field team competed at the URI Coaches Invitational yesterday (Feb. 1). The Friars captured first in the men’s distance medley with a time of 10:09.63.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>Sophomore Austin King (Kempton, Pa.) finished the 400 meter event with a time of 49.20 for a sixth-place finish. Classmate Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) captured third-place in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.50. </p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>In the 1000 meter run, sophomore Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) claimed second with a time of 2:30.64. </p>

</p>
<p>Sophomore Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.) captured first in the 3000 meter run with a personal-best time of 8:34.44. Freshman Hugh Armstrong (Balina, County Mayo, Ireland) finished third in the race with a personal record of 8:35.60. </p>

</p>
<p>Providence is back in action Friday, Feb. 7 in Boston Mass. at the Valentine Invitational. The meet is set to begin at noon.</p>
