<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>The Friars combined for four PRs on the day and three IC4A Championship qualifying time.

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>PRINCETON, N.J. –</strong> The Providence College men's track and field team began competition at the Sam Howell Invitational (Princeton, N.J.) and Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, Calif.) today (April 4).

<p style="text-align: justify;">In Palo Alto, Calif., the Friars posted three IC4A Championship times.

</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In the 1500 meter run, sophomores Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) and Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) ran personal-best performances. Oakley finished seventh in his respective heat with a time of 3:44.68, while Dixon
finished in a time of 3:45.30, good for sixth in his heat. </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Providence carried over its success to the men's 5000 meter run, where graduate student Julian Saad (Trumbull, Conn.) posted an IC4A qualifying time with a personal-best performance of 14:01.90.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Friars were led by sophomore Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.) at the Sam Howell Invitational, who finished 21<sup>st</sup> overall after capturing first in his respective heat. Costello finished the race in a time of
14:51.27. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Costello was followed by freshmen Hugh Armstrong (Balina, County Mayo, Ireland) and Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.), who finished 33<sup>rd</sup> and 34<sup>th</sup> overall, respectively. Armstrong crossed the finish line
at 14:58.20, while Crawley finished in a personal-best time of 14:58.74. </p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Friars will continue with competition at the Sam Howell Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, April 5.
