<p><strong>VILLANOVA, Pa. –</strong> The Providence College men's track and field team finished competition at the BIG EAST Championships today (May 11). Sophomore Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) finished third in the 1500 meter run for the Friars.
</p>

<p>Oakley ran an IC4A Championship qualifying time of 3:47.89 for his best finish at the outdoor championships.
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In the 5000 meter run, junior Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) claimed fourth with an IC4A Championship time of 14:28.37.

<p>Providence's 4x800 meter relay team comprised of junior Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) and sophomores Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England), Joseph Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.) and Oakley, captured third overall. The four finished third with an IC4A qualifying
time of 7:35.17. </p>

<p>With 39 team points, Providence finished sixth overall. The Friars will return to action with the IC4A Championships on May 16 in Princeton, N.J.
