<p><strong>Providence, R.I. - </strong>The Providence College men's cross country team will compete in Stony Brook, N.Y. at the Wolfie Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13. The men will race against Columbia, Marist College, Connecticut and Stony Brook.<br>

<p>On Saturday, 13 competitors will represent Providence. Leading the Friars will be seniors Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) and Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.). During the 2013 season, Quinn helped the Friars to a 16<sup>th</sup> place finish at the NCAA Cross
Country Championships. He also was the first Friar to cross the line with a 42<sup>nd</sup>-place finish, just missing All-America honors. Saturday will mark Quinn’s first race of the season.

<p>Along with the Quinn and Doyle, juniors Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.), Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England), Stephen Robertson (Wakefield, Mass.), Brendan Sullivan (Foxboro, Mass.) and Joseph Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.) will run. The sophomores who
will run for the Friars are Hugh Armstrong (Balina, County Mayo, Ireland), Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.), Jonathan Estrada (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jake Feinstein (Sandy Hook, Conn.). Freshman running for the Friars will be Thomas O’Neill (Middletown,
N.J.) and Brendan Ungemach (Wayne, N.J.). </p>

<p>The last time the Friars ran, O’Neill made his presence known with a win at UNH (8/30). The first-place finish marked O’Neill’s first collegiate race and win. For his efforts, he was named the BIG EAST Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week (9/9) and the
Corvias ECAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week (9/3). The Friars also won the meet, collecting six of the top nine places with O’Neill, Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) and Doyle all finishing within seconds of each other to sweep the top three spots.<br>

<p>Among the other teams competing this weekend, Columbia was ranked fourth, one spot behind the Friars, in the USTFCCCA Preseason Regional Poll (8/25), while Stony Brook was ranked 14<sup>th</sup>. The Friars enter Saturday ranked third in the preseason regional
poll and 16<sup>th</sup> in the nation.<br>

<p>Last year, the Providence men won the Stony Brook Invitational, claiming six of the top 13 spots. The Friars finished the race with a total of 27 points, three points ahead of Columbia. Quinn was the individual winner of the race. <br>
