<strong>Sisson was named BIG EAST Track Athlete for her 10,000 meter performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational over the weekend.</strong></p>

<p><strong>PROVIDENCE, R.I.</strong> – Graduate-student Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week today (Tuesday, May 5).<br>
<br>
Sisson earned the honor for her 10,000 meter performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, May 2. She finished fifth in a stacked field with an Olympic and World Championship “A standard” qualifying time of 31:38.03. Sisson’s time now
ranks her as the fourth fastest NCAA female athlete all-time in the 10,000 meters. She also broke the Providence College 10,000 meter record, formerly held by Mary Cullen '06, by over a minute.<br>
