<b>Birmingham, Ala.</b> – Providence track senior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) placed seventh in the mile at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track Championship today (March 12) in Birmingham, Ala.
<br>
<br>
The race was tactical from early on with the field going through the halfway mark in 2:11. The race came down to the last lap with Oakley finishing seventh in a time of 4:07.75. The top-9 finishers in the championship race all finished within 1.49 seconds of
one another. The winner, Virginia’s Henry Wynne, captured the title in 4:06.63.<br>
