<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Durham, N.H. – </b>The Providence College Men and Women’s Cross Country team won their season opening Tri-meet against UNH and Holy Cross at the University of New Hampshire on Sept. 3. The women won their race taking the first five spots
while the men took the first eight spots, both resulting in perfect scores.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The women were led by Sarah Mary Collins (Basel, Switzerland). After breaking away early, Collins took the win in 17:21.84, a full seven seconds faster than last year’s winning time. Junior Amelia Paladino (Morgantown, W. Va.), freshman
Abbey Wheeler (Elmira, N.Y.), and junior Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) ran the entire race in a pack and took the second, third and fourth spots with times of 17:31.45, 17:31.85 and 17:32.95, respectively. Junior Makenzie Barry (Mendham, N.J.) finished fifth
in a time of 17:59.21 to round out the scoring. Senior Keelin Hollowood (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and freshman Alexandra DiCicco (Sachem, N.Y.) rounded out the top seven, finishing in 7<sup>th</sup> and fourteenth place respectively.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Providence men took to the front with a large lead pack, leading the race through the first mile in 4:45. The pack eventually narrowed down to junior Aaron Hanlon (Drogheda, Ireland), graduate students Stephen Robertson (Wakefield,
Mass.) and Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand), and seniors Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.) and Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland). Those five finished together with Hanlon taking the win in a time of 15:26.47 with Robertson taking second (15:26.65),
Oakley third (15:26.78), Crawley fourth (15:26.82) and Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland) fifth (15:27.04). Junior Thomas O’Neill (Middletown, N.J) and sophomore Marcus Karamanolis (Wellington, New Zealand) rounded out the scoring for the Friars
finishing sixth (15:31.97) and seventh (15:37.16), respectively.<o:p></o:p></p>
