<b>Providence Track Wraps Up Competition At BIG EAST Championships<o:p></o:p></b></p>

</b>The Providence College men’s and women’s track team wrapped up competition at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on Saturday, May 13. The women finished with tied for sixth place earning 44 points and the men finished in seventh place earning 44 points.

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Cambria;">Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.), Abbey Wheeler (Pine City, N.Y.) and Keelin Hollowood (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) all raced in the women’s 5,000 meters. The Friar trio was part of the
front pack that broke away after a slow first half. Rocha, Wheeler and Hollowood respectively finished third, fourth and fifth.

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: Cambria;">The Friar men had Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand), Nick Carleo (Newburyport, Mass.) and Marcus Karamanolis (Wellington, New Zealand) in the finals of the men’s 1,500. Oakley took
third place with a time of 3:53.25, Carleo followed closely behind in 6<sup>th</sup> (3:55.60) and Karamanolis finished 12<sup>th</sup> in 4:07.97.<o:p></o:p></p>
