Michael O’Leary (St. James, N.Y.) and Nick Carleo (Newburyport, Mass.) had strong races in the mile. O’Leary, after finding himself in the lead after the first lap, pushed the pace in his heat and led for the first five laps. In the end, it would come down
to a battle over the final 200 meters with O’Leary taking second in a personal best time of 4:06.8.</span></p>

rest of the field to win comfortably in a time of 8:21.49.</span></p>
