<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal">PROVIDENCE, R.I. – </b>The Providence track & field teams competed at the Brown Springtime Invitational on Sunday, April 29. The invitational is the Friars last meet before the BIG EAST Championships.

The Friars had six athletes finish in the top three of their events:<o:p></o:p></p>

- Liam Harris (Douglas, County Cork, Ireland) won the men’s steeplechase with a time of 9:13.32.<o:p></o:p></p>

- Michael O’Leary (St. James, N.Y.) won the men’s 1,500 meters with a time of 3:52.29.

- Ryan Jendzejec (Chappaqua, N.Y.) finished second overall in the men’s 800 with a personal best time of 1:52.17<o:p></o:p></p>

- Chris Shanahan (Westwood, Mass.) finished third in the javelin with a throw of 55.01m.<o:p></o:p></p>

- Daniel Rooney (Rochester, N.Y.) finished third in the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.28.<o:p></o:p></p>
