<font face="Calibri" size="3"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><b>TAMPA, FLA. – </b>The Providence College track team competed on the first day of the first round of the NCAA Championships on Thursday, May 24 in Tampa, Fla. The lone competitor on the day for
the Friars was junior Nick Carleo (Newburyport, Mass.) in the preliminary heats of the 1,500 meters.</span></font></div>

<font face="Calibri" size="3"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Carleo raced in the first preliminary heat and positioned himself towards the back of the field. He would remain in the back for the majority of the race, waiting for the break to happen. Carleo used
a strong kick over the final 300 meters to move through the field and finish seventh in his heat with a time of 3:46.26. Carleo moves on to the next round after having the second fastest non-automatic time of the day.</span></font></div>
