Greany runs seventh fastest time of 24 runners in the heats.
EUGENE, Ore. – Providence College senior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) ran the seventh best time of 24 runners on Thursday night in the semifinal round of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Greany placed fourth in her heat in a season-best time of 10:02.99. Emma Coburn of Colorado ran the top time in the 3000 steeplechase heats, finishing in a time of 9:46.76. Last year, Greany received Second Team All-America accolades when finished 10th in a time of 10:19.54.
The Friar women’s team will return to action at the NCAA Championship on Friday when juniors Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) and Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) each run the 5,000 meter finals at 9:15 p.m. EST.
Both the 5,000 meter final on Friday and the 3,000 steeplechase final on Saturday will be televised on ESPNU.
