PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The No. 4 Providence College women’s cross country team travels to Kenosha, Wis. to compete at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships. Nine Friars will represent Providence at the meet. The 5k race will kick off at 11:50 a.m. CT at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

The top nine runners to represent Providence are seniors Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.), Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand), Grace Thek (Melbourne, Australia) and Erin Murphy (Easton, Mass.), along with sophomores Sarah Mary Collins (Basel, Switzerland), Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Kathleen Powell (Wrentham, Mass.) as well as freshmen Catarina Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) and Bryanna Allison (Lowell, Mass.).

The women will take on No. 3 Georgetown and No. 7 Butler, along with Creighton, DePaul, St. John’s, Marquette, Seton Hall, Villanova and Xavier. Georgetown and Providence will race each other for the first time this season as the two have roped in three and four wins on the season, respectively.

Sisson has led the Friars with three, top finishes for Providence, including two first-place finishes. Last time out, Sisson ran to a second-place finish at the Wisconsin Invitational. Collins and Nagel have each claimed the second scoring position for the Friars twice this season.
