Providence College Cross Country Remains In The Top-30 For Both The Men and Women
The women will remain in the top-five teams in the nation, while the men fall within the top-20.

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams continue high marks in the USTFCCCA national and regional polls. The women dropped to a fourth place ranking in the national poll, while remain the team to beat in the Northeast regional poll.

Today (Oct. 22) both the men and the women remained in the top-20 teams in the nation. The men now hold a No. 19 ranking in the national poll and a fourth place ranking in the region.

After spending five weeks in the No. 1 spot, the women fell to a fourth place ranking after a third place finish at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. The women faced 16 of the top-30 teams in the nation, including six top-10 teams. Providence earned a third place bid with three top-10 finishers at the meet.

The men also competed at the Wisconsin Adidas invitational, where the team placed 12th out of 36 teams. The Friars faced 19 other top-30 teams and five top-10 teams at the meet. Providence was led by junior Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland), who claimed a ninth place finish among some of the nation's top runners.

The Friars are back in action Friday, Oct. 25, when both the men and the women will send competitors to the CCSU Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn. It will be the final meet before the Friars head to the BIG EAST Championships in Kenosha, Wis. on Nov. 2.
