Providence's Katie Lembo Named To US 2015 Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge Team

Lembo will race on January, 10, 2015 in the junior women's race.



PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on Monday, Dec. 22 that Providence College women's cross country runner Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) was named to the US team to compete at the 2015 Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Edinburgh, Scotland on January 10. Lembo will compete against other teams in the women's junior race (U-20) from Europe and Great Britain.

This past cross country season, as a freshman, Lembo finished 10th at both the 2014 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships (Oct. 31) and Northeast Regional Championships (Nov. 14) earning All-BIG EAST and All-Regional honors, respectively. She also finished 70th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships (Nov. 22), helping the team to a 13th place finish. In addition, Lembo was named BIG EAST Athlete of the week on Sept. 9 for her performance at the UNH Dual meet where she finished second overall in her first collegiate race.
