Providence College Senior Emily Sisson Earns BIG EAST Track Athlete Of The Week

Sisson earned her first league honor of the indoor season.


PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) of the women's indoor track team was named BIG EAST Women's Track Athlete of the Week (Feb. 11). Sisson is the first Friar this season to earn league indoor track honors for the women.


Sisson ran a NCAA leading time of 9:00.76 in the 3000 meter run to capture first at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Feb. 7. Sisson's performance was a personal-best and a ECAC Championship qualifying time.


Sisson and the Friars are back in action on Feb. 21, when they compete at the BIG EAST Championships. The meet will take place at 11:00 a.m. in New York, N.Y. at the New York City Armory.
