Providence College Women's Track Begins Competition At ECAC Championships
Keating and McCarthy both qualified for the 1000 meter run final.
BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College women's track and field team began competition at the 2014 ECAC Indoor Track Championships yesterday, Saturday, March 8. The Friars two runners competing yesterday both qualified for the 1000 meter run final to take place later today.
Sophomore Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.) had the sixth-best qualifying time and second-best of her respective heat with 2:52.61. Senior Jackie McCarthy (New Rochelle, N.Y.) finished close behind Keating, with a time of 2:53.01 as the eighth-best time of the preliminary round.
The Friars will continue competition today at the ECAC Championships at Boston University in Boston, Mass.
