Providence College's Laura Nagel Defends 5000 Title At BIG EAST Outdoor Championship

Laura Nagel earned her second consecutive outdoor victory in the 5000 meter run.



VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Providence College women's track and field team was led by senior Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) in the final day of competition at the BIG EAST Championships. Nagel defended her title in the 5000 meter run today (May 11).



Nagel ran an ECAC Championship qualifying time of 16:23.35 to earn her second BIG EAST Championship of 2014, earning the 3000 meter run indoor BIG EAST Championship.



The Friars finished the Outdoor Championships seventh overall with 45 points. Providence returns to action on May 16 when it competes at the ECAC Championships in Princeton, N.J.
