Armstrong And Hanlon Named To Irish U23 European Cross Country Team
Hugh Armstrong and Aaron Hanlon will compete for the U23 Irish Team at the European Cross Country Championships on Dec. 13.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's cross country junior Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland) and sophomore Aaron Hanlon (Drogheda, Ireland) were named to the U23 Irish Team to compete at the 2015 European Cross Country Championships.

This season, Armstrong and Hanlon both consistently finished each race among the Friars' top-5 runners. Armstrong collected a 12th-place finish as Providence's No. 2 runner at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championship, earning All-BIG EAST Second Team honors on Oct. 31, while Hanlon finished 14th, also earning All-BIG EAST Second Team honors. Additionally, Hanlon captured 21st-place at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Nov. 13 as the Friars' No. 2 runner, earning All-Northeast Region honors.

The European Cross Country Championships will take place in Hyeres, France on December 13th.
