Men's And Women's Track Competes At URI Coaches Invitational



The women finished third at the URI Coaches Invitational, while the men finished seventh.



KINGSTON, R.I. - On Saturday, Feb. 7, the Providence College men's and women's track teams competed at the URI Coaches Invitational in Kingston, R.I. The men's team finished in seventh place with a total of 40 points, while the women's team finished with 96 points for third.



On the women's side, Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) began the afternoon with a first-place finish in the mile (4:45.20), finishing 16 seconds ahead of second. Next up, Devyn Pryor (Dartmouth, Mass.) won the 800 meters in a time of 2:18.87. Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) also took first place in the 3,000 meters (9:35.09). To conclude the day, Pryor, Molly Keating (Rehoboth, Mass.), Caile Kohlbrenner (Sparkill, N.Y.), and Katie Sischo (Jamesville, N.Y.) were members of the women's DMR that won their event in a time of 12:17.54.



On the men's side, Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland), James Campbell (Cumberland, Maine), Andrew Doherty (Taunton, Mass.), and Aaron Hanlon (Drogheda, Ireland) were members of the men's DMR that won in a time of 10:23.25. Other top performances for the men went to Thomas O'Neill (Middletown, N.J.) with a second-place finish in the 3,000 meters (8:48.21), Quinn with a third-place finish in the mile (4:13.66) and Campbell with a third-place finish in the 800 meters (1:56.92).



Other individuals that grabbed top-3 finishing spots included:

Taylor Corder: 2nd in the 400m, 59.57

Caitlin Abelseth: 3rd in the 500m, 1:16.70

Caile Kohlbrenner: 2nd in the 800m, 2:20.50

Katie Sischo: 2nd in the 1000m, 2:59.22

Bryanna Allison: 3rd in the 1000m, 3:02.02

Women's 4x400 meter relay team: 3rd, 3:59.98



The Providence women will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass., while the men will return at the same meet on Saturday, Feb. 14.
