BOSTON, Mass. – The Providence College men’s and women’s track teams completed competition at the ECAC/IC4A Championships today (March 8) in Boston, Mass.

Juniors Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) and Lauren Mullins (Binghamton, N.Y.) highlighted the weekend, each winning their respective events. Dixon claimed his first IC4A title in the mile after out-kicking the field with 300 meters to go to secure the win (4:07.59). Mullins also won the ECAC title in the 3,000 meters in personal-best time of 9:28.90.

On the men's side in the IC4A 3,000 meter event, senior Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) placed second (8:04.80), while fellow classmate Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) and sophomore Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.) finished seventh (8:13.96) and 18th (8:20.94), respectively. Crawley also ran a four-second personal best.

For the women, the ladies in the ECAC mile final were up first. Senior Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) placed second (4:47.39) in the mile, while freshman Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Australia) finished seventh in a time of 4:53.51. In addition to Mullins in the 3,000 meters, freshman Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) placed sixth, finishing in 9:32.68.

Senior Taylor Corder (Corinth, Miss.) had an impressive weekend in her 500 meter races. On day one, Corder qualified for the final with her first ever sub-75 second performance (1:14.43). Her time marks the second-fastest 500 meters in school history. In the final, Corder finished with another sub-75 second performance to finish eighth (1:14.72).

Next up for the Friars, graduate-student Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) and junior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) will compete at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark. to conclude the 2014-15 indoor track and field season.
