Emily Sisson Runs Fourth Fastest All-Time NCAA 10,000 Meters
Sisson finished with the fourth fastest time ever run by a collegiate in the 10,000 meters at Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College track star Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) ran the fourth fastest time ever run by a collegiate at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in the 10,000 meters last night.

Sisson went through the 5k mark splitting 15:52. With one lap to go, she was amongst a lead pack of seven women, eventually placing fifth in a time of 31:38.03.

With her 31:38.03 performance at Stanford University, Sisson's time gave her a World Championship and Olympic qualifying "A standard" and also broke the Providence College women's 10,000 meter school record, formerly held by Mary Cullen '06, by over a minute.

Also this weekend, senior Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) and junior Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) competed at the Princeton Open on Friday (May 1). Hillery finished fourth in the 5,000 meters with an IC4A qualifying time of 14:29.62, while Dixon ran 3:48.49 in the 1,500 meters for sixth-place.

Next up, the Friars will head to Philadelphia, Pa. on May 8th and 9th for the 2015 BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The championships will be streamed live on FoxSportsGO.
