Emily Sisson Named BIG EAST Track Athlete Of The Week
Sisson was named BIG EAST Track Athlete for her 10,000 meter performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational over the weekend.


PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Graduate-student Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week today (Tuesday, May 5).

Sisson earned the honor for her 10,000 meter performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, May 2. She finished fifth in a stacked field with an Olympic and World Championship "A standard" qualifying time of 31:38.03. Sisson's time now ranks her as the fourth fastest NCAA female athlete all-time in the 10,000 meters. She also broke the Providence College 10,000 meter record, formerly held by Mary Cullen '06, by over a minute.
