Providence Women’s Cross Country Ranked Third In Nation And First in Region.
The Friars finished fourth at the NCAA Championships last season.

BATON ROUGE, La. – The U.S. Track Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the first national rankings today (Aug. 30). The Providence College women's cross country team received a third place ranking in the national poll, and also received a first place ranking in the Northeast region.

The 2015 season saw the Friars finish fourth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships after winning both the BIG EAST Championships and the Northeast Regional meet. The fourth place finish was the third time in the last four years that the Friars have finished on the podium at the NCAA Championships.

The Friars begin their 2016 campaign with a Tri-Meet against UNH and Holy Cross, which will be hosted by the University of New Hampshire, on Sept. 3 at 10:45 A.M.
