Providence College Men's Track Competes At BU Valentine Invitational
Jordan Mann continued to impress with his second sub-8 minute 3,000 meter performance of the season.

BOSTON, Mass. - The Providence College men's track team competed at the BU Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. yesterday (Feb. 13).

Graduate-student Jordan Mann (St. Louis, Mo.) continued to impress this season with his second sub-8 minutes 3,000 meter performance. Mann clocked in at 7:57.30 for a fourth-place finish and a personal record by one second. Also in the 3,000 meters, the Irish duo of graduate-student Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) and junior Hugh Armstrong (Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland) finished in 15th-place (8:11.45) and 24th-place (8:16.35), respectively. Armstrong's performance was an 11-second personal best.

In the middle distance events, freshman Michael O'Leary (Melville, N.Y.) and senior Joseph Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.) continued to work together. O'Leary captured a personal best time of 1:52.64 in the 800 meters, while Vercollone was just one place behind him in a time of 1:52.69.

Sophomore Brian Zied (Ramsey, N.J.) also captured a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.86.

The Friars will return to action at the BIG EAST Championships on Feb. 26th and 27th in Staten Island, N.Y.
