Providence’s Julian Oakley Advances To Mile Final At NCAA Indoor Track Championship
Oakley finished sixth in the first of two semifinals to advance on time to the final of the mile.

Birmingham, Ala. – Providence track senior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) advanced to the final of the men’s mile at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track Championship tonight (March 11) in Birmingham, Ala.

Oakley finished sixth in the first of two semifinals to advance on time to the final. The race was tactical from the beginning, with the field going through the 1200 meter mark in 3:13. Oakley clocked in at 4:08.32 to finish.

The NCAA men’s mile final is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. ET start tomorrow (March 12) in Birmingham, Ala. ESPN3 will stream tomorrow’s event starting at 4:55 p.m. ET.
