Providence College Men’s and Women’s Track Teams Wrap Up Competition At NCAA First Round
Julian Oakley, Katie Lembo and Trevor Crawley each competed on the final day of competition in Jacksonville, Fla.

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Providence College men's and women's track teams wrapped up competition today in Jacksonville, Fla. for the final day of the NCAA First Round.

Senior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) finished eighth in heat two of the 1,500-meter quarterfinal in a time of 3:44.78. Oakley was just .4 of a second shy of advancing to the NCAA Championship.

Later in the evening, sophomore Katie Lembo (Penfield, N.Y.) finished 17th in her heat of the women’s 5,000 meters, while junior Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.) finished 19th in the second heat of the men’s 5,000 meters.

The Friars will return to action on June 8-11 at the 2016 NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. with sophomore Brianna Ilarda (Perth, Australia) contesting in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase and graduate-student Jordan Mann (St. Louis, Mo.) in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase.
