Northeast Region Women’s Coach Of The Year Named After Coach Ray Treacy
The USTFCCCA announced the honor on Nov. 10.
NEW ORLEANS, LA.- The USTFCCCA announced that eight Regional Coach of the Year awards will “bear the names of coaches who built legacies within their respective regions”. The Northeast Region Women’s Coach of the Year award was named after Providence College’s Coach Ray Treacy.
Coach Treacy has experienced massive success in his 32 years as head coach of the Providence College Cross Country teams. His women’s teams have finished in the top 10 at NCAA National Cross Country Championships 20 times, including a fourth place finish in 2014, two third place finishes in 2003 and 2004, two runner-up finishes in 1990 and 2012, and two national championships in 1995 and 2013. Coach Treacy also guided Kim Smith (’04) to the individual NCAA Cross Country title in 2004.
