Paladino Earns All-American Honors With 7th Place Finish In Mile

The Friar junior finished seventh with a time of 4:34.62.

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – Millie Paladino (Morgantown, W. Va.) competed in the finals of the women’s mile at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas on March 11. Paladino finished seventh with a time of 4:34.62.

The pace was an honest one from the start as the field passed through the halfway point in 2:17. The group did not break apart until the final 400 meters, when the eventual winner and runner-up separated themselves. Paladino, who was in ninth, had the second fastest final 200 meters in the race (31.19) to move up to seventh place. The finish was a tight one as only .89 seconds separated third from eighth place.

By finishing in seventh place, Paladino earned her first First Team All-American accolade.
