NEW ORLEANS, LA. - On Nov. 12, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the All-Region honorees for 2012 after this past weekend’s NCAA Regional Championships. Among the 450 athletes recognized for the awards, six were members of the Providence College men’s and women’s cross country teams. For the women, freshman Sarah Collins (Basel, Switzerland), junior Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand), junior Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) and senior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) earned All-Region status and for the men sophomore Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) and freshman Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England) were honored.

To earn All-Region honors, athletes were required to finish in the top-25 individually in their region. The BIG EAST came away with 22 honorees on the men’s side, just behind the SEC, who had the most with 23. On the women’s side, 23 honorees came from the BIG EAST, while the Big Ten coming out on top with 29.
