- The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams continued their presence in the national rankings that were released Nov. 18. The women jumped a spot to the No. 1 spot, while the men remained in the 21st team in the ranking.

The women claimed a first place ranking with a strong performance at the Northeast Regional Championships. The Friars took the title with three top-seven finishers and five top-20 finishers. Providence was led by senior Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.), who was the top-finisher for the Friars with a second-place finish. Providence took the regional championship with 44 points, 40 points better than the second place finisher Dartmouth (84 points). All five scoring runners claimed All-Northeast Regional honors for their top-25 performances.

The men remain in the 21st position after a fourth place finish at the regional championships (Nov. 15). The Friars were led by junior Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland), who claimed ninth overall as the Friars' top-finisher.
