The Friars will be tested with top-10 ranked opponents.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men’s cross country team will look to continue its success at the Boston College Invitational at Franklin Park, Mass. on Friday, Sept. 27. The 8k race will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Last time out, the Friars earned a win over then 18th-ranked Columbia, Marist and Stony Brook at the Stony Brook Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The Friars will face a strong field of competitors in the likes of eighth-ranked Wisconsin, ninth-ranked Syracuse and 12th-ranked Oregon. Providence will also run against Bucknell, Cornell, Hartford, John Hopkins, New Hampshire, Northeastern, Rhode Island, Stony Brook, UMass Amherst and Yale.

The Friars will be led by juniors Benjamin Connor (Derby, England), Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.), Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) and Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) along with graduate student Julian Saad (Trumball, Conn.).

Joining the upperclassmen are sophomores Christian Costello (Ridgewood, N.J.), Harvey Dixon (Aldershot, England), Jake Meredith (Wellfleet, Mass.), Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand), Stephen Robertson (Wakefield, Mass.), Brendan Sullivan (Foxboro, Mass.), and Joseph Vercollone (Pembroke, Mass.).

Freshmen Hugh Armstrong (Balina, County Mayo, Ireland), Billy Bragg (Middletown, N.J.), Trevor Crawley (Cumberland, R.I.), Jonathan Estrada (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Jake Feinstein (Sandy Hook, Conn.) will also be competing for the Friars on Friday.

"We are excited for the meet on Friday," Head Coach Ray Treacy shared on the big meet. "It will be a really good indicator for where we stand and a chance to start accumulating points."

The meet will kick off the start of the qualifying period for teams to start collecting points for the Division I Cross Country National Championships to be held in Terre Haute, Ind. on Nov. 23.
