Emily Sisson Named USTFCCCA National Athlete Of The Week
Sisson earned the honor for her historic performance in the 5,000 meters at the BIG EAST Championships.


PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College track star Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday, Mar. 3.

Sisson earned the honor for her historic performance at the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Armory in the Bronx, N.Y. on Feb. 28. Sisson broke former Friar Kim Smith's collegiate 5,000 meter indoor record after running a solo 15:12.22 to claim her sixth BIG EAST title.  She also moves to No. 3 all-time in the history of U.S. indoor track.

Sisson will now look to claim her first ever NCAA title at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville Ark. on Mar. 13-14.
