?Providence Men's Track Begins Competition At Penn Relays

Hillery captures PR, while Friars earn three IC4A qualifying times.



PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Providence College men's track and field team began competition today, April 24, at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. All three competitors on the day posted IC4A qualifying marks.



Juniors Shane Quinn (Waterford, Ireland) and Brian Doyle (Swansea, Mass.) competed in the men's 5000 meter run, where the two both posted IC4A Championship qualifying times. Quinn finished 10th overall in a time of 14:11.21, while Doyle finished 18th with a time of 14:26.72.



Classmate Liam Hillery (Smithfield, R.I.) competed in the 10,000 meter run, where he placed sixth in a time of 29:51.31. Hillery's personal-best performance was an IC4A Championship qualifying time.



The Friars will continue with competition at the Penn Relays tomorrow (April 25).
