Julian Oakley finished sixth in the second semifinal of the men’s mile.

Fayetteville, Ark. – Providence College junior Julian Oakley (Tauranga, New Zealand) competed in his first ever NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships today (Friday, March 13) in Fayetteville, Ark.

Oakley finished sixth in the second semi-final of the mile in a time of 4:00.25. To advance to the final Oakley needed to finish in the top-four of his heat for an automatic qualifying sport or have one of the two next fastest times in either semi-final. Oakley was .25 seconds outside the last spot to advance.

With his finish, Oakley claims an overall 11th-place finish, earning Second-Team All-America honors. The honor is his first All-America accolade.
